For the 2017­-2018 school year, Bird and Johnson Middle Schools are launching a 1:1 Chromebook (laptop) Program. Specifically, we will be providing each incoming grade 8 students a Chromebook for use both at school and at home.  READ MORE... about Chromebook Program for Grade 8 Students

Highlights

Grade 7 ELA Romeo & Juliet Project
While reading Romeo & Juliet students were given a R.A.F.T (Role, Audience, Format, Topic) assignment to show their understanding of the events of the play. The options were : 1. Create a text message exchange between Juliet and County Paris in which she turns down his marriage proposal because she loves Romeo. 2. Write a love letter from Romeo to Juliet 3. Write a gossip column or news article in a Shakespearean newspaper about some major events from the play 4. Write a letter from Tybalt to Romeo challenging him to a duel 5. Write a post card from Friar Laurence to Lord Capulet explaining why Romeo and Juliet's marriage would end the feud between the Capulets and Montagues.

Artsonia
All of the artwork created by our students in their art classes is displayed on the Artsonia website.  Click on the the Artsonia logo above to be taken to the BMS art gallery.  The artwork is categorized by grade/project in the gallery.  Students upload photos of their artwork to the site during class and are required to provide a written artist statement as part of their classwork. Check with your student if you need help finding their artwork on the site!
