Dear Families,

We had a busy week finishing up our Recognition Assemblies and going on the 7th Grade Field Trip to see A Christmas Carol today at the North Shore Music Theater. In our assemblies, we recognized students for their efforts thus far in the school year. And, we talked about the continuing importance of our school's Core Values of Honesty, Respect, Perseverance, Kindness, & Family. Based on the students' efforts and behavior, we are frequently complimented by the hosting facility whenever the boys and girls attend a field trip like A Christmas Carol. The students I talked to when they returned really seemed to enjoy the show.

As a reminder, we have our grade 7 & 8 concert next Tuesday night in the Walpole High School Auditorium. It begins at 6:15 for the band and then the Orchestra & Chorus will perform at 7:30. We hope to see you there.

Have a great weekend!

Docent Program

Our thanks go out to a great group of dedicated docents who gave 15 classroom presentations on art technique and art history in the past several weeks!  In English classes, our sixth graders viewed and discussed dramatic moments in art. Seventh graders considered art and artifacts from man’s earliest times to learn more about the cultures they have been studying in their social studies classes.  These docents will present more units throughout the year and help with an 8th grade field trip. We appreciate the efforts of our docents: Jennifer Agahigian, Shivaun Brenizer, Diana Dority, Linda Kennedy, Chrissa Kaselis, Renee Lamarque, Rosemarie Levenson, Kendall Manzo, Karen Mathews, Aimee Monteith , Sarah Pomeo, Kristi Seibel, and Ann Walsh.

Student Council "Giving Tree"

The BMS Student Council is working with the "Gifts for Kids" program and gathering donations to create a Giving Tree fund to purchase gifts for 4 young Massachusetts’ children whose families cannot afford gifts during the holidays. When students donate 50 cents or more, they can decorate a gingerbread figure that will help create a Giving Tree. 8th grade Student Council members will then purchase items for these 4 children using the funds that we raise. Thanks so much for your support!
